When you work with Carroll Daniel you will feel important to us, because you are.**JOB DESCRIPTION** **POSITION SUMMARY**The Concrete Superintendent typically reports to the General Superintendent, Division/Operations Manager, Field Operations Manager, or Field Operations Director. They manage the planning and daily execution of multiple projects. They are responsible for maintaining certain or all aspects of the project, depending on project size and complexity, by managing subcontractor performance.**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES*** Participate with and collaborate in the design and construction process with the ARCO Project team* Conduct job site meetings on site* Coordinate with the concrete project team to ensure safety, quality control and schedule* Conduct progress meetings with the concrete team* Remain cost conscious and aware of every aspect of the project at all times* Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external customer expectations.* Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations* Is aware of the overall project budget and assists project team in managing the entire budget.* Fully aware and manages the items that CDCC Self Performs to successful completion within the Budget.* Performs cost coding to comply with the project budget of items purchased or labor performed.## Preconstruction Services* Works in conjunction with other team members during project pursuits as required to evaluate a project and develop a plan for its successful completion.* Participates in plan flips to establish scopes of work, subcontractor participation and developing an overall project schedule.* Helps with the development of General Conditions for the project## Project Start-up and Scheduling* Performs or assists, as assigned, with all project start up items from the Project Start-up Checklist* Performs the review and coordination of the Loss Prevention and Quality Control Program* Full responsibility to develop and maintain a project schedule including periodic updates to status the project.* Reacts appropriately and timely to schedule challenges and slippage including a work around plan, potential supplementation, or resequencing of the work so to maintain a project’s schedule.* Helps evaluate the effects of project change directives on the schedule**Project Administration, Coordination and Close-out*** Overall responsibility for project Safety and Quality Control* Fully capable of interpreting all contract documents and understanding the scope of work involved.* Assists project team in the development of RFI’s required to perform the work* May be called upon to attend and participate in meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives, provides information and assists the project team in the preparation of progress reports/meeting minutes* Coordinates with others in CDCC to ensure all clarifications, changes, directives, RFIs, etc., are updated on the “as-built” drawings and are fully coordinated with company supervision and all subcontractor/suppliers* Assists to make sure there is a plan to Close-out a project and that the field portion is executed.**Client Relations*** Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds expectations* Addresses all issues with a “Can Do”, solution-oriented attitude## Culture, Leadership and Employee Development* Behaviors are in alignment with our Core Values, Purpose and Vision* Promotes professional behavior* Takes full ownership of personal career development through on-the-job training, CDCC Way training programs and assists in the development of interns / co-ops**Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.**## Qualifications**REQUIRED CAPABILITIES****Superintendent Specific*** Personal Leadership* Problem solving* Results Driven* Establishes Priorities* Flexible and Adaptable* Decision Making/Judgement* Customer Focus* Resolving Conflict* Listen, Watch, Learn* Innovative/Solutions Oriented* Accepts Supervision and Constructive Criticism**WORKING CONDITIONS*** The majority of work completed on job sites. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.* The project team and/or team member may need to move to other geographic locations for projected work, if necessary.**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE*** Experienced level position with up to 4 years of Assistant Superintendent experience preferred, or 4 to 6 years of progressive construction related trade experience. Previous Carpentry position, Field Engineering or Assistant Superintendent position with a commercial construction company is desired.* Organizes people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results* Makes decisions under tight deadlines, sometimes with incomplete information* Acts in a manner of integrity that demonstrates support for the company values and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.*The above descriptions cover the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
