Fresh produce, value for money, and a uniquely positive shopping experience are the foundations on which we operate, bringing the complete shopping experience to the community.Job Duties and Responsibilities:The cashier should be an accountable individual who processes all cash and credit card transitions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful individual will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. Duties and responsibilities of the cashier will include greeting customers when entering or leaving our establishment, maintaining a clean and tidy checkout area and keeping reports of cash and credit transactions. Cashier will be assigned a personal code to open his or her own register, which cannot be shared with anyone else.Opening/Closing cash register proceduresMaintain a high level of customer service.Organize customers' purchase orders.Scan items correctly and collect cash or credit/debit card payments.Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receiptsAssist with stocking, pricing, and cleaning.Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization within the cashier stationsStock cashier stations with paper, products, or other operating suppliesAdhere to all company policies procedures & safety standards.Maintain a neat personal appearance, wear company uniform and nametag always.Assist with training of new cashiers.Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as always presenting professional conduct and appearance.Greet customers as they approach the cash register, maintain a positive attitude and smile.Answer customer questionsDeal with returns/exchanges in a positive mannerProvide basic store and product information to clients as needed.Meet company's customer service standards.Follow all upselling rules and procedures.Complete all applicable department training programs.Promote the sales of any current promotions to the customers (up-selling)Other duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service18 years or olderMust be able to lift up to 20 poundsAbility to read, write and do simple math problemsAbility to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problemsAble to work well with others as a team memberA passion for serving peopleMorning and evening shifts, Saturday and Sunday working days.
