Senior Software Engineer

Company Description COAST Autonomous designs and develops advanced vehicle automation and monitoring systems that serve as the control center for autonomous vehicles. Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, implement, test, and maintain software components that power COAST Autonomous vehicle automation and monitoring systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing back-end services and APIs, optimizing system performance, integrating software with vehicle hardware and sensors, and ensuring reliability and safety in production environments. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams such as robotics, hardware, and operations to define requirements, review designs, and deliver robust solutions. The engineer will also participate in code reviews, mentor other engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions and technical best practices. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture principles. Hands‑on experience in Software Development and Programming, building production‑grade systems and services. Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable server‑side architectures. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply OOP design patterns effectively. Experience with modern programming languages (such as C++, Python, Java, or similar) used in high-performance or real‑time systems. Familiarity with distributed systems, networking concepts, and cloud or on‑premise deployment environments. Background in autonomous systems, robotics, automotive, or embedded software is preferred. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work on-site, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
