HVAC Truck Based Controls Technician

What You Will Do Service, repair, design, configure, and operate complete HVAC building control systems and low‑voltage subsystems (lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.). Ensure quality, timeliness and efficiency of service, repairs and designs. Develop complex software programs, perform commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations. Prepare and submit detailed drawings, flow diagrams, bill of material, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics. Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services and/or installation. Select, order and track delivery of materials for assigned jobs. Assist in loading, commissioning and validation of system and network‑level controllers. Resolve problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. Provide field change information for as‑built drawings and software. Keep management, contractor, and customer informed of project progress and issues. Assist in site‑specific training for owner/operator on the building control system. Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations. Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. May provide work direction to other service control technicians. Develop and test software programs required to operate the system per customer facility requirements. Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services and installation. Select, order and track delivery of materials for assigned jobs. Assist in loading and commissioning of all system and network‑level controllers as required. Assist in validation of complete system functionality and solve problems with subcontractors and other trades. Provide field change information to the team for creation of as‑built drawings and software. Keep management and contractor and customer informed of job progress and issues. Assist in performing site‑specific training for owner/operator on the building control system. Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations. Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. May provide work direction to other technicians. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent. Minimum 8 years of experience in construction or service, or HVAC industry. Knowledge of construction or service, HVAC, control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems. Experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using industry protocols such as LON, BACnet, etc. Ability to communicate technical knowledge to a non‑technical audience. Advanced computer skills, particularly computer‑related drafting tools. Compensation Hourly range: $25 to $37. Pay determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and market data.
