Living Stone Baptist Church of Portageville, MO is prayerfully seeking a Christ-Centered, Spirit
Led, Bi-Vocational pastor who will encourage the congregation to continue to grow in faith,
unity and love.  Who will shepherd the congregation with humility, wisdom, patience, integrity
and compassion to the glory of God the father.
Living Stone was a church plant in 2006 that started in a living room, and when it started
outgrowing the living room, it was moved to a BBQ restaurant until it outgrew that building too,
and then we moved to our current location which was absolutely a Godsend. We just had our 20
year celebration and 19 of those years we’ve had the pleasure of a wonderful pastor. He came
here pretty new to the pastor role but it didn’t take him long to become a great teacher/pastor and
friend. He was involved in the community and our small town that grew to love and appreciate
his hard work and dedication. During his time with us, he and his lovely wife brought 3 children
into the world and we’ve enjoyed watching them grow over the years and they’ve all become
like family. God has led him into a new direction and even though we will miss them terribly we
know that God has a plan for him and his family as well as for Living Stone Baptist Church.
One of our goals for the future is to build on what we’ve started and reach out to our community
and surrounding area to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. To grow His church for the Kingdom of
Heaven.
Key Responsibilities
Provide spiritual leadership & pastoral care to the church and local community.
Prepare and deliver Christ-centered sermons with practical applications aligned with God’s will.
Administer the ordinances of baptism and communion.
Provide biblical counseling & visitation for members and families.
Perform weddings and funerals.

Encourage and equip members to serve and grow as disciples of Christ.
Guide the congregation in evangelism, missions, and outreach.
Oversee the collaboration with the church counsel, committees, and ministry teams to
advance the church’s mission.
