Industrial Maintenance Technician (Mechanical / Electrical / PLC)

Kansas City, MO

$33.00 – $39.00 per hour
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday | 2:30 PM – 12:30 AM

Industry: Manufacturing / Corrugated Packaging

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support production operations through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment.

This is a critical role responsible for maintaining equipment uptime, improving production efficiency, and ensuring safe, reliable operation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical production equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime
• Assist with installation and startup of new machinery and equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems
• Support PLC programming adjustments and system configuration (based on experience)
• Inspect, test, and repair electrical components and systems
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and documentation
• Participate in safety audits and ensure OSHA compliance
• Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment performance

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical, electrical, or PLC)
• Ability to read schematics and technical documents
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must provide own basic hand tools
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred:

• Experience in manufacturing or corrugated packaging environments
• Hands-on experience with PLC systems in production settings

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing facility
• Hands-on role involving mechanical and electrical systems
• Requires standing, walking, climbing, and physical repairs
• Safety-sensitive environment with strict OSHA compliance
