JOB OVERVIEW: JKS Restaurants is a London-headquartered restaurant group behind some of the UK's most celebrated dining brands, including two-Michelin-starred Gymkhana, Hoppers, and Berenjak. We've recently launched in the US with Ambassadors Clubhouse New York - our Punjabi dining concept in NoMad, which opened in February 2026 to strong critical reception and immediate demand, with the London original earning a Michelin star the same week. We also have an operating partnership in Las Vegas and a second US site planned for the coming year.

We’re hiring our first on-the-ground Staff Accountant in New York. You’ll be the finance presence across our US operations - working day-to-day with the restaurant team and Managing Partner, while connecting into our London-based Finance team for reporting, controls and technical support.

This is a hands-on, early-stage role with genuine scope to grow as the US platform scales. You won’t be buried in a shared service centre - you’ll have direct visibility of how an international restaurant group operates, from site-level P&Ls through to Group consolidation.

RATE OF PAY: $70,000 - 80,000 annually

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Month-end and core accounting

• Support the monthly close for US entities in Sage Intacct - journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and reconcile period-end F&B stock.
• Review sales reconciliations and prepare weekly flash reporting inputs.
• Prepare schedules and reconciliations to support audit and statutory processes, working with the Senior Financial Accountant based in London.

Operational finance and cost control

• Partner with restaurant management to monitor labor, F&B costs, controllable expenses and margins.
• Maintain the procurement platform (Margin Edge) - ensure invoices are approved and coded accurately, suppliers are set up correctly, credit notes are chased, and payments are processed on time to protect trading terms.
• Support the site team with stock counts, reconcile results and flag GP variances to operations and the UK Finance team.
• Monitor overhead spend against budget and escalate variances proactively.
• Support pre-opening budgets and capex tracking for new site launches.

Las Vegas partnership

• Act as the finance contact for our Las Vegas operating partners - monthly invoicing, reconciliation and a weekly sales report for Group distribution.

Reporting and insight

• Prepare monthly management accounts inputs with variance commentary across sales, COGS and labor.
• Support budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with FP&A.

Compliance and controls

• Support US sales tax filings and coordinate with RSM on tax and regulatory matters.
• Liaise with payroll providers on reconciliation and reporting.
• Process urgent supplier payments outside UK hours where needed to maintain trading terms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, restaurants or multi-site retail.
• Degree in accounting or finance; CPA-track or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Comfortable with Sage Intacct or similar mid-market ERP; confident in Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills - you manage your own deadlines without chasing.
• Commercially curious - you want to understand why the numbers move, not only post them.
• Confident communicating with non-finance operators and senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable working autonomously as the sole finance person on the ground, with remote support from London.
