Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital Patient ratio of 1:3-4 Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) Weekend requirement of every third weekend Float requirement to units of equivalent or lower acuity Utilizes Cerner charting system Requirements Active MD RN license or compact RN license required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment Cerner charting system experience required Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response team utilization Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral line and PICC line care, and blood product administration Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management Experience with cardiac drip titration, heparin protocols, and post-MI/cardiac catheterization care Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions Flu vaccine required Additional Information Provide telemetry-based nursing care to PCU/stepdown patients including cardiac, renal, and post-surgical populations Manage cardiac and vasoactive drip titrations and monitor for dysrhythmias Support feeding tube care, insulin drip titration, and wound care management Navy blue scrubs (or navy blue pants with white top) required; scrubs not provided No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract Returning MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate First-time travelers will not be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-764819.
