Pro Shop Attendant (Retail & Operations) at the Port Jefferson Country Club Role Overview: The Pro Shop Attendant is the "hub" of the golf operation and the primary face of the club’s retail business. We are seeking energetic, professional individuals who are not only administratively precise but are also active sales associates. You are expected to move beyond the counter, engaging members with product knowledge and driving merchandise sales to maintain the club’s premium standing. Key Responsibilities: Retail Excellence & Sales: Proactively assist members with the selection of apparel, equipment, and accessories. Maintain deep product knowledge of brands carried in-shop to make informed recommendations. Merchandise Management: Maintain "shop-proud" standards. This includes daily dusting of displays, steaming apparel, and ensuring the golf ball wall is always fully stocked with zero empty hangers. Reception & Check-in: Greet members by name; ensure 100% accuracy in billing for green fees, cart rentals, and guest charges. Operational Flow: Manage the Visage GPS system, monitor handicap cart status, and act as central dispatch for the Starter and Outside Operations. Administrative: Manage phone lines with a professional script and proactively enforce the club’s dress code and guest policies. Professionalism & Uniform Standards: Approved Attire: Staff must arrive for every shift in the official PJCC staff uniform. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Clothing must be clean, pressed (wrinkle-free), and in good repair. Grooming: Maintain a neat, professional, and well-groomed appearance. As a retail leader, your personal presentation is a direct reflection of the shop’s premium brand. Conduct: Personal cell phone use is strictly prohibited in view of members (phones should only be used in the basement or designated staff areas). Professionalism is required from the moment you arrive on property. Availability: 30–40 hours per week. Shifts: 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Opener) or 1:00 PM – Close (Closer).
