Systems Administrator (Systems Administration, Senior Analyst)

Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking a Systems Administrator (Senior Analyst) to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. This role will manage Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux systems in support of the MQ‑25 Carrier‑Based Aerial‑Refueling System program. The position requires an on‑site schedule, 5 days on‑site, and is eligible for a Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). The schedule may change based on company or contract requirements. Responsibilities Install, configure, administer, support, and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. Administer and support VMware server/cluster environments. Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology on assigned systems. Maintain and update operating system security patches. Maintain the system configuration standard using DoD‑based Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate resolution with internal and external resources. Document maintenance, repairs, and test activities; keep documentation updated as part of every project. Follow change control procedures during new implementations and changes to existing systems. Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Research and implement automated processes to improve operational efficiency. Analyze and monitor the capacity and performance of systems and software applications and make recommendations for improvements as needed. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Travel 20% – 35% to other sites, as needed. Required Qualifications 5 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux System Administration. Active Security+ CE certification or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). Knowledge of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) experience. Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). Familiarity with the RMF (Risk Management Framework) process. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be flexible with work schedule to include occasional weekends. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 40 lbs. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of Navy systems, networks, and IT infrastructure. 7 years of senior‑level System Administrator experience. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate. Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification; a Master’s degree will be considered in lieu of 3 years of professional experience. Clearance All applicants must possess a current Top‑Secret clearance. The clearance process considers financial background aspects. Compensation The projected compensation range is $100,000 – $135,000 per year. Final salary is determined based on qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
