Transform Lives as a Job Developer at Assets, Inc.! Assets, Inc. is seeking a passionate and motivated job developer to connect individuals with disabilities to meaningful employment opportunities! This position is full‑time 30‑40 hrs/wk. Pay starts at $22.42/hr + depending on experience/education listed on your application. The primary hours for this position are Monday‑Friday between the hours of 9:00am-6:00pm. Every day, you'll work directly with local employers, build community partnerships, and help individuals discover jobs that match their strengths, interests, and career goals. What You'll Do As a Job Developer, you'll serve as a bridge between job seekers and employers by: Building relationships with local businesses and community partners Identifying and developing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities Meeting face‑to‑face with employers to promote inclusive hiring practices Conducting job analysis, assessments, and employment planning Assisting individuals with job searches, applications, interviews, and workplace success Coordinating services with the Alaska Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Providing on‑the‑job coaching, training, and retention support Advocating for the employment goals and interests of the individuals we serve Tracking progress and maintaining accurate service documentation Collaborating with a supportive team of professionals dedicated to making a difference What Makes This Position Exciting? Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adheres to and demonstrates Assets, Inc. core values, mission, and compliance plan in the performance of all aspects of this position. Serves as primary contact for individuals receiving minimal employment support. Provides direct and indirect skill training, retention and on‑site quality control. Services as the primary contact and coordinator for the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation with the State of Alaska Provides initial Employment Services to include: Intake; Relationship building; Job analysis / Job assessment; Job search / Placement assistance; Job Development; DVR services Develops and maintains a list of prospective employers appropriate for clients in both group and individual placements. Comfortable with sales / networking and making in‑person presentations with prospective employers. Conducts face‑to‑face appointments / meetings with employers. Answers employer questions and / or concerns in a positive manner. Serves as a consultant and resource to employers in the community. Actively advocates for employee's employment needs and interests. Maintains effective interactions with the Contracts Management Team and Clinicians. Provides individuals receiving employment services with transportation assistance to include mobility training and coordination or scheduling of transportation services. Maintains accurate and organized records and documentation. This includes, but is not limited to: Intake Process / Database; Job Development; DVR documentation; Job proposals; Case notes / Service Notes; Data tracking for individuals seeking services Effectively communicates with all team members and participates in regularly scheduled team meetings and support team meetings. Provides back‑up support for team members, including providing direct supports as needed. Attends company required trainings and participates in on‑going professional development. Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a human service or related field; minimum of two years experience providing employment related services to people with disabilities; OR equivalent combination of education and experience (experience may replace formal education on a year for year basis). Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Alaska driver’s license, and an insured vehicle. Must have a National Certificate in Employment Services or obtain one within 6 months of employment. Must provide copy of driving record, proof of insurance and proof of educational credentials (if applicable) at time of hire. Other Skills and Abilities Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the company and promote a positive company image with the public. Previous sales or marketing experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to analyze a variety of tasks, environment, assess individuals needs and utilize best practices in job developing and training. Demonstrated ability to function as an effective team member. Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws. Must be highly sensitive to and understand the needs of persons with disabilities. Must possess a high level of organizational skills. Ability to do presentations. Must be able to work with minimal supervisions and be highly self‑directed. Must have experience in a variety of employment environments.
