Role: Senior OpenShift Virtualization Administrator
\nLocation: Remote
\nJob Type: Contract
\nDuration: 6 months, with potential for FTE conversion
\n \nWe are looking for a Senior OpenShift Virtualization Administrator to manage and support enterprise virtualization environments using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt.
\n \nWhat you’ll do:
\n- \n
- Administer and support Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization environments. \n
- Manage virtual machines, including provisioning, migration, cloning, snapshots, patching, and decommissioning. \n
- Support VMware-to-OpenShift Virtualization migrations. \n
- Troubleshoot OpenShift, Kubernetes, VM, networking, and storage issues. \n
- Work with RHEL, Kubernetes, Operators, CRDs, RBAC, and OpenShift tools such as oc/kubectl. \n
- Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and incidents. \n
- Work with networking and storage technologies such as Multus, OVN-Kubernetes, Ceph, and OpenShift Data Foundation. \n
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks. \n
- Support security, patching, change management, and compliance requirements. \n
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate with infrastructure and operations teams. \n
Required Skills:
\n- \n
- 9+ years of enterprise virtualization/system administration experience. \n
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift Virtualization, KubeVirt, or similar Kubernetes-native virtualization. \n
- Strong Red Hat OpenShift administration experience. \n
- Strong RHEL/Linux administration experience. \n
- VMware/vSphere experience. \n
- Experience with VM migration and virtualization technologies. \n
- Experience with oc/kubectl, Operators, CRDs, and RBAC. \n
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills. \n
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. \n
- U.S. Citizenship required. \n
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. \n
- EX316 or equivalent certification preferred. VCP-DCV may also be considered. \n
