Medical Assistant - General Surgery

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant - General Surgery Medical Group

• Location: 880 W Central Road, Arlington Heights, IL

• Full /Part Time: 40 hours/ weekly

• Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

• Travel Required: Travel for floating coverage (could be within other locations of their department, within the same building, or other MG service lines). Leaders will do their best to keep staff within their department, travel to a minimum and the same scheduled hours, but may ask for flexibility such as: assisting in other locations (these may be outside of their dept/specialty, changes to hours scheduledand could require travel up to 20 miles from home site. Scheduling is supported via an online tool, which the new hire will learn about from their hiring manager.

What you will do:

• Under general supervision of clinic supervisor, and following established procedures and precedents, prepares patients for physical examination, obtains specimens, conducts select routine laboratory tests and records results, and performs phlebotomy, routine diagnostic tests. Under delegated supervision of a physician; performs clinical and administrative tasks.

What you will need:

• High school diploma or GED

• Certified, Registered, and Clinical Certified Medical Assistants (CMA , RMA or CCMA) are required to provide current certification or registration through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), National Health career Association (NHA) or any other certifying agency and should have at least 6 months of clinical experience.

• Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association

• A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.

• Flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, evening and Saturday rotation

• Bilingual Spanish preferred
