Step into a fulfilling contract role providing vital support to students from 5th through 12th grade as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This full-time position offers 35 hours each week in a dynamic school environment near the Shelton, WA area. You’ll collaborate closely with occupational therapists and educational staff, making a positive impact on students’ academic and personal growth.
What you'll bring:
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and active state licensure
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with children/adolescents (preferred)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt and implement therapy plans tailored to individual student needs
- Compassion and commitment to empowering students
Key responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver creative and effective interventions
- Carry out individualized and group therapy sessions supporting fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities essential for classroom success
- Document progress and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support IEP goals and accommodations
- Attend relevant meetings, contribute to multidisciplinary planning, and participate in ongoing professional development
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages student independence and confidence
