Job Details Responsibilities: The Emergency Department Technician performs approved activities related to patient care and the functioning of the Emergency Department. Adheres to Mercy Medical Center/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times. * Delivers direct care to patients and creates a safe comfortable environment. * Assist with selected procedures associated with admission, discharge and transfer of patients. * Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record * Assists with transfer of patient to a bed, wheelchair or stretcher utilizing patient care equipment safely as needed * Performs and maintains competencies related to EKG's, glucose testing and phlebotomy * Participates in customer service activities Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent required * One year satisfactory experience as a Nurse's Aide in a hospital or prior EMT experience preferred * Good communication skills/speaks and writes clearly * BLS required Salary Range USD $27.68 - USD $27.68 /Hr.
