Maintenance Technician

Aerotek is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing facility located in Senatobia, MS. This position is a 6 month contract to hire role paying $33-$35/hr depending on experience.
Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and boiler systems within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will also execute capital projects, including installation and dismantling of equipment, and perform various maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
Responsibilities

• Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
• Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems.
• Inspect or test damaged machine parts, marking defective areas or advising supervisors of repairs needed.
• Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specific procedures.
• Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
• Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
• Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
• Set up and operate machines, adjusting controls to regulate operations.
• Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
• Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse to maintain machinery and work areas.
• Clean machines and machine parts using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.

• Manufacturing experience
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• PLC troubleshooting and control
• Electrical troubleshooting, including 3-phase systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures
• Knowledge of various hand and power tools
• Prior experience operating a forklift
• Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks in stressful situations
• Proficiency in using hand and portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment, tape measure, computer (shop floor and ERP)
• Education - High School diploma or GED required
• One to two years of related maintenance experience
• Previous experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler maintenance preferred
• Experience with rotating equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting

Work Environment
You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to ambient and outside temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and increased noise levels. There is exposure to hazardous mechanical, electrical, and chemical substances/equipment, and work may be performed in confined spaces.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.12 - $35.12/hr.
