We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The Dental Hygienist will provide high-quality preventive dental care, educate patients on proper oral hygiene, and work closely with the dentist and clinical team to promote excellent oral health.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including removal of plaque, calculus, and stains.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations and office protocols.
• Conduct periodontal screenings and assess patients' oral health.
• Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive treatments as appropriate.
• Review patients' medical and dental histories and update records accurately.
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, nutrition, and overall oral hygiene.
• Document clinical findings, treatments, and patient recommendations accurately.
• Identify signs of periodontal disease, cavities, oral abnormalities, and other concerns and communicate findings to the dentist.
• Provide a comfortable, welcoming experience for patients of all ages.
• Maintain strict infection-control and sterilization procedures.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical treatment area.
• Assist the dental team with other clinical duties as needed

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in the applicable state.
• Associate degree or other qualifying education from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Current radiology certification, if required by state regulations.
• Strong knowledge of periodontal health, preventive dentistry, and infection control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dental team.
• Compassionate and professional approach to patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a general or family dental practice.
• Experience with digital dental X-rays and electronic dental records.
• Familiarity with periodontal charting and patient education.
• Experience working with children, adults, and patients with varying dental needs.
