It's the way you want to be treated.Position Summary: Assists in delivery of primary healthcare, patient care management, and some clerical duties (as needed) in an ambulatory environment. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Initiate rooming procedures prior to Provider office visit:Obtain health historyObtain vital signsReview medication list and allergiesOther duties include:Coordinate blood drawsPerform EKGsComplete point-of-care testingAdminister injectionsSupport multiple providers simultaneously, providing any necessary services to remain on schedule throughout the dayMonitor patient messages and triage patient callsNotify patients of lab results and medication refills, as directedObtain prior authorizations for medicationsRequirements:Knowledge of medical practice to assist in patient care.Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.Education:High school diploma or GED required. Graduation or completion of Certified Medical Assistant preferred, not required.Experience: Patient Care Technicians and Certified Nursing Assistant experience can be considered.CPR Certification.Work Shift Details:Days - Variable weekday and weekend, Must be available to work nights, rotating weekends and holidaysDepartment:SCMG LEMONT UC
