Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 months (extension possible; potential to convert to FTE)
• Pay Rate: $44.00-$45.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; occasional early days when on-site trainings are scheduled
• Overtime: Overtime applicable
• Travel Requirements: Should be within one hour of the site
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

As a Health, Safety & Environment Consultant , you will assist in the management of Environmental Health and Safety programs relative to a specific account or market area. This job is part of the Environment Health and Safety function, responsible for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with identifying what programs meet regulatory requirements and client needs.
• Evaluate existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.
• Aid in maintaining specific plans, playbooks, and procedures for the assigned account or market area, making certain playbooks are current, complete, and implemented.
• Function as an Environmental Health and Safety resource to staff and internal customers.
• Observe opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing the quality of services.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.
• Conduct safety training classes and issue certificates upon completion.
• Walk around the site; identify and report unsafe conditions.
• Understand and apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Required Skills

• Must be comfortable teaching a class.
• Awareness of OSHA protocols including confined space, dig permits, and working from heights.
• OSHA 10 certification (minimum).
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Sophisticated math skills; ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

Preferred Skills

• Additional OSHA certifications beyond OSHA 10.
• Red Cross / CPR certification.
• Experience training people on working from heights and fall protection.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Certifications as required by local government.

Required Experience

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety (or equivalent combination of experience and education).

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Facility operates 24/7.
• Role is primarily independent, working mostly without direct team supervision on-site.
• Occasional early-start days when site-wide training sessions are scheduled.
• Candidate must reside within one hour of the site.
• Regular site walk-throughs required to identify and report safety hazards.
• Background check with drug test required (CBRE Safety With Drug Test package).
• Client onboarding can take up to 10 days.
