- Full-time, hospital-based, working-leader position overseeing medical quality and doctor development across assigned hospitals
- Lead, mentor, and retain associate veterinarians; foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that supports growth and engagement
- Provide clinical oversight and quality assurance through medical record reviews, audits, and patient safety initiatives
- Deliver veterinary services in a portion of scheduled time; the clinical-to-leadership mix varies based on hospital needs
- Partner with practice managers to align team performance with care standards and operational goals
- Coach new graduates and newly hired veterinarians to build confidence in clinical, surgical, and dental skills
- Support recruitment by interviewing candidates and providing a strong in-hospital experience for visiting students and doctors
- Manage controlled substance compliance and uphold all local, state, and federal regulations
- Address client concerns related to medical care and champion a positive client experience
- Oversee requests for medical equipment and ensure appropriate maintenance
- Local travel between assigned hospitals; some Saturday coverage aligned to posted hours Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Active Ohio veterinary license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain) and proficiency in controlled substance management
- Proven clinical experience, including routine surgery and dentistry; prior leadership or mentorship experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; comfort with computer-based medical systems
- Ability to travel locally between assigned hospitals as needed
