Role Description The Senior Litigation Associate will handle complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including case assessment, strategy development, and trial preparation. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and arguing motions, preparing pleadings and discovery, conducting and defending depositions, and appearing before state and federal courts as needed. The role involves supervising and mentoring junior attorneys and support staff, collaborating closely with partners on case strategy, and maintaining direct communication with clients regarding case progress and expectations. The Senior Litigation Associate will also manage deadlines, negotiate settlements where appropriate, and ensure compliance with all applicable rules of professional conduct. This is a full-time, on-site role based in West Warwick, RI. Qualifications Strong foundation in substantive and procedural Law, with experience in civil litigation and related practice areas. Demonstrated ability to draft, analyze, and argue Motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents. Advanced Research skills, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and application of rules of court. Experience conducting and defending Depositions, including preparation of witnesses and use of testimony in motion practice and trial. Proven experience appearing before Courts, managing hearings, and participating in trials and settlement conferences. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Rhode Island (or eligibility for prompt admission). Several years of litigation experience in a law firm or comparable setting, with increasing responsibility for case management. Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, negotiation, and client communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple matters, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
