Sr Facilities Manager

About The Role As a CBRE Sr Facilities Manager, you will manage many functions of building operations and maintenance for a facility, campus, or portfolio of buildings. This position is part of the Facilities Management functional area, focusing on all aspects of operations of a set of assets and supporting Property Managers with repairs and investment plans. What You’ll Do Coordinate and manage daily site activities at 4 locations – Home Office in Elgin, one in Winnetka, one in Downtown Chicago, and one in Milwaukie, WI. Travel locally approximately 50–60% of the time (mileage reimbursement available for personal or rental vehicle use). Create and manage the budget. Oversee, coordinate, and manage facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors. Maintain positive client relationships with C‑Suite and Executives and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues. Prepare and manage moderate- to mid-sized projects, operating budgets, and variance reports. Perform facility inspections and quality assurance following local, state, and federal regulations; suggest and implement operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities. Create environmental health and safety procedures for facilities. Develop vendor relationships and oversee invoicing procedures; review and approve purchase orders for parts, services, and labor for projects. Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how it integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives. Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans. Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity. Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department. Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline. What You’ll Need Valid driver’s license required. Facility Management certification preferred (FMP). Property Management background helpful. Strong soft skills/communication skills to interface with C‑suite clients on site. Experience with people management and financial oversight, including budgeting. Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 10+ years of relevant experience; or a combination of experience and education will be considered. Budget creation and analysis experience preferred. Experience managing quarterly business review processes. Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluation, and retention. Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems. Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets. In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Proficiency with multiple systems, including Savvy Prism and W/O systems. Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset. Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations. Salary Minimum salary is $125,000 annually; maximum salary is $135,000 annually. Compensation depends on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
