Project Design Lead

Role Overview Project Design Lead opportunity at Jacobs. The successful candidate will drive the delivery of complex tool installation design packages for semiconductor manufacturing and other state‑of‑the‑art facilities. The project lead will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and maintain client relationships to ensure timely, cost‑effective execution. As the Project Design Lead, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business, driving significant operational and environmental outcomes. Responsibilities Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex tool installation design packages (typically 15‑200+ pages). Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural) and act as primary interface with clients. Manage scope, schedule, and budget to deliver projects on time and within budget. Remove roadblocks and enable design teams to work efficiently, often managing 10–15 concurrent tool packages. Conduct field verifications to confirm design accuracy and constructability. Identify solutions and advance workstreams, even when dependencies lie outside direct control. Required Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or 5+ years equivalent experience). 2+ years of semiconductor tool install design experience. Experience leading design coordination and construction drawing development. Strong client interaction and relationship track record. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and scope. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.). Preferred Experience Background in semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial projects. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Quickbase. Experience working in fast‑paced, matrixed teams. Innovative mindset that brings new ways of working. Team lead experience. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to learn quickly and drive broader knowledge growth. Passion for buildings and construction. Employment Terms & Benefits Base salary range: $79,000.00 to $119,460.00. Additional remuneration includes merit increases, discretionary bonus, and potential stock opportunities. Eligible employees may enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Health, dental, vision, and basic life insurance are available.
