CIVILSERVICE TITLE : Analyst Trainee (eligible for advancement to Assistant Program Analyst after successful 12-month training period) DIVISION : Extension Services SALARY : $40,480 - $54,325 (as Analyst Trainee); eligible for advancement to Assistant Program Analyst ($50,269 -$83,721) after successful 12-month training period LOCATION : 1440 Parkside Avenue, Ewing, NJ SCHEDULE : Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break REPORTS TO : County Extension Department Head POSITIONS AVAILABLE : 1 Position Overview Mercer County is seeking a motivated and organized professional to support the many programs of Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Mercer County, including those provided through 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Family and Community Health Sciences. This role requires strong organizational and time‑management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple initiatives at a time, a high level of professionalism, and strong communication and technical skills. While the successful candidate will begin as an Analyst Trainee, they will be eligible for promotion to Assistant Program Analyst after a 12-month training period. Responsibilities Program Review, Planning, and Coordination Learns to review annual programs to strengthen all aspects of program planning and implementation. Learns to coordinate program marketing, enrollment, and communications – serving as a key contact for multiple initiatives. Program Evaluation and Reporting Learns to collect and compile data to support program evaluation efforts. Learns to use data to create charts and other associated figures for programmatic reporting purposes, including grant proposals and funder updates. Learns to promote program outcomes and impacts via news blogs, e‑newsletters, social media, and updates to multiple websites. Other Learn multiple information systems to support all of the above, including BetterImpact, PEARS for Extension, and ZSuite. Serves as a first line of support on all IT issues, including AV and connectivity support for online, hybrid, and in‑person classes and programs. Schedules the daily use of meeting rooms by a variety of stakeholder groups and County departments. Serves as a first point of contact for walk‑ins and telephone inquiries from the public, volunteers, and participants. Requirements Applicants must possess one of the following: Four (4) years of professional experience relevant to the position A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, volunteers, program participants, partnering organizations, and funders. Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external collaborators and partners. Ability to review, interpret, and evaluate data and other information. Ability to prepare technically sound, accurate, and informative reports. Ability to use various types of information systems for enrollment and reporting purposes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in any of the following is also preferred: Canva, Constant Contact, Qualtrics, WordPress, and/or similar.
