Medication Tech

Overview The Gardens of Statesville is seeking a dependable and compassionate Medication Technician to support residents and patients by assisting with medication administration and contributing to a safe, caring, and respectful environment. In this role, you will work closely with nursing and care teams to help ensure medications are provided accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Responsibilities Assist with the administration of medications in accordance with state regulations, facility policies, and care plans. Verify resident or patient identity and follow proper procedures before administering medications. Document medication administration, refusals, and any observations accurately and promptly. Monitor for changes in condition and report concerns or adverse reactions to the appropriate clinical team member. Support medication storage, organization, inventory, and expiration monitoring. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe medication area. Follow infection control, confidentiality, and safety protocols at all times. Provide respectful, professional communication with residents, patients, families, and team members. Assist with other assigned care-related duties within the scope of training and regulation. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Current certification or training as required by state or facility guidelines. Experience in assisted living, long-term care, healthcare, or a similar setting preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain organized and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and compassion in resident or patient care. Desired Skills Knowledge of medication terminology and basic healthcare documentation. Ability to recognize and report changes in resident or patient condition. Familiarity with electronic health records or medication documentation systems.
