Floating between units is expected based on unit needs. Weekends are required, with every other weekend scheduled. The nurse will work with ratios of 1:5 and 1:10 during nights. Strong candidates will not be screened out solely for lacking specific experience. Patients typically range in age from 6 to 17 years old and are medically stable. The unit serves children with behavioral issues and adolescents with acute suicidal ideation or attempts. Expected procedures include physical hold protocols, medication administration, and psychoeducation. Equipment used includes Hover Jack and Humane Wrap for secure patient transport. Candidates may be required to float to affiliated facilities. Travelers should not refuse to float, or they may face assignment termination. All travel-related requirements and requests must be made upfront. Compliance with holiday work is expected, with a commitment to work 3 out of 5 specified holidays. References are required from the last 3 years of experience. Training modules are self-reported and will be recorded.
