Patent Prosecution Attorney

The Shook IP counseling team is seeking one or more patent preparation and prosecution attorneys in the mechanical and computer/telecommunication arts to work with our exciting roster of brand-name clients from our Kansas City office. You will work closely with our team to procure patents in the United States and abroad, prepare and prosecute patent applications, draft patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions, support IP diligence efforts, and provide strategic IP business counseling. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented and collegial group of attorneys who are committed to professional growth and fostering a supportive team environment. Desired candidates will have at least 3+ years of experience across all stages of patent preparation and prosecution, with a background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or other computer arts. Candidates must be members of the USPTO Patent Bar and licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri. No portable business is required. In accordance with applicable law, the annualized salary range for this position is $200,000 - $325,000, depending on the candidate's overall experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Discretionary bonuses may also be awarded annually.
