Accountant

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accountant for an established cosmetic and plastic surgery practice. This is a full-time opportunity based in Austin, TX, with the first 90 days onsite and the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule thereafter.


POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Accountant will take ownership of the organization's day-to-day accounting function while partnering directly with a fractional CFO. This role will be responsible for closing the books, managing bills and accounting operations, and helping rebuild and strengthen the organization's accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, healthcare industry experience, proficiency with QuickBooks, and an interest in leveraging AI and technology to improve efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Own and manage the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.


• Lead the month-end close process and maintain accurate books and financial records.


• Manage bill payment and other ongoing accounting responsibilities.


• Evaluate current accounting processes and rebuild or improve workflows to create a stronger, more efficient accounting function.


• Partner closely with the fractional CFO on financial operations, priorities, and accounting initiatives.


• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and technology to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.


QUALIFICATIONS:


• Strong accounting experience with the ability to independently own a comprehensive accounting function.


• Healthcare industry accounting experience; experience within cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, or a related medical practice environment is highly valued.


• Proficiency with QuickBooks is required.


• Experience with ModMed is preferred.


• Strong understanding of AI tools and the ability to identify practical opportunities to incorporate AI into accounting processes and workflows.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:


This position offers a competitive annual salary of $100,000-$115,000 along with benefits. The position is based in Austin, TX and will work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, for the first 90 days, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule thereafter.
