Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of both pediatric and adult patients using established assessment tools and insightful observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to specific communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, fluency, voice, language, and swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide educational support to patients and families, empowering them to continue progress beyond the clinical environment.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions on occasion, maintaining continuity in patient care.
  • Keep detailed, accurate documentation in compliance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in continuous learning and peer collaboration to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) pending ASHA certification.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preference for a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapies for all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to liaise effectively with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary care teams.
  • Capacity to adapt therapy methods to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance with documentation processes.
