Job Summary:

The Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist provides specialized respiratory care to neonates in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, ensuring optimal respiratory function and patient safety. The therapist collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver advanced respiratory therapies and interventions.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer medicated aerosol therapies, including small volume nebulizers, MDI, DPI, and holding chambers.
  
  
• 
  Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and T-piece ventilation to support neonatal respiratory needs.
  
  
• 
  Assist with intubation procedures and conduct blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on aerosol, MDI, DPI, and humidified therapy use and care.
  
  
• 
  Maintain medication carts, Omnicell systems, and barcode medication administration processes with precision.
  
  
• 
  Support high-risk deliveries by administering surfactant and adhering to NRP protocols.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid neonatal respiratory therapy license and certification.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in aerosol therapy, mechanical ventilation, and blood gas analysis.
  
  
• 
  Possess experience in neonatal respiratory care, including intubation and surfactant administration.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong patient education skills and collaborative team participation.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current knowledge of neonatal respiratory protocols and care standards.
