Senior Buyer

Position: Senior Buyer

Location: Plainview, NY

Company/Industry: Well-established A/V integration company

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm

Salary: $80,000 - 100,000/yr, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate

Type: Direct Hire or Temp-to-Hire


Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full purchasing lifecycle for equipment, materials, and services
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
• Review purchase requisitions, verify specifications, and issue purchase orders
• Track open orders, monitor lead times, and expedite shipments as needed
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with warehouse and project teams
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support long?term supply chain stability
• Resolve delivery issues, discrepancies, and product returns
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and operations to forecast material needs
• Analyze purchasing data and prepare reports for management
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and cost?control initiatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience (Senior Buyer or similar role)
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost?analysis skills
• Experience with purchase orders, inventory systems, and ERP software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline?driven environment
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow?through
• A/V, electronics, construction, or technical industry experience is a plus - not required

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $80,000.00 - $100,000.00
