Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Nurse position located in Lubbock, Texas. This role involves providing specialized cardiovascular surgical patient care within a short-term acute care facility. The nurse will be responsible for scrubbed heart valve and open heart procedures, requiring recent CV experience and the ability to independently scrub complex cases.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certification in BLS and CST or NBSTSA (National Board of Scrub Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing); at least 2 years of consecutive experience in cardiovascular surgical cases; valid state license, including a compact license if applicable; minimum of 2 years of recent CV case experience within the last 3 months
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trauma level II units, community hospital settings, and charting experience with Epic systems
• Float: Not required for this assignment
• Additional Information: The position requires the ability to scrub heart valve procedures and open heart surgeries independently. Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with a commitment to working at least 3 of the 5 major holidays. All scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during application. Candidates should have current CV experience, recent case activity, and the ability to comply with facility policies for safety and sterilization.
