Job DescriptionAdditional Job Information36 hours per weekMonday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Wednesdays offBenefits start first day of employment!OverviewJob Summary:Responsible for performing screening and diagnostic imaging procedures in an outpatient Mammography department to adult patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.Job Responsibilities:Performs radiographic imaging examinations in mammography; May also be trained to perform QC, dexa scans or invasive breast procedures, such as needle biopsies.Explains procedures to patients and maintains a safe and comfortable environment; Provides necessary pre- and post- procedure patient care.Completes review of patients’ chart to verify exam orders and validate reason for exam.Interview patients regarding personal and family history, including risk factors.Practices proper patient positioning to achieve diagnostic quality imaging.Adjust, maintain, and operate imaging equipment by following applicable protocol parameters to acquire high-quality, diagnostic images.Implement radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff, by adhering to ALARA guidelines.Maintain accurate records within clinical documentation support systems; Manages imaging data in PACS and documents procedures in EMR.Follows best practice safety guidelines as established by ACR and MQSA.Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Degree: Associate degree in RadiographyExperience: 0-4 yearsSupervisor Experience: None requiredLicenses & Certifications:R.T.(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Mammography (M) certification by the ARRT required within 1 year of being hired into the position.BLS required within 30 days of employment.Working Conditions:Chemical SubstancesDirect Patient CareExposure to Blood/FluidHazardous MaterialsInfectious DiseasesRadiationWork ShiftDay Shift (United States of America)Legal StatementThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position.
