Overview

MDScripts is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Linux/DevOps) to serve as the primary technical owner of MDScripts' production infrastructure, responsible for the administration, performance, security, reliability, and modernization of Linux-based systems across physical colocation and hybrid cloud environments.

You will report directly to the Chief Information Officer while collaborating closely with the Development and Applications teams on technology infrastructure, network optimization, and security, as well as assist with deployment automation, CI/CD pipelines, and compliance projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Administration & Ownership: Serve as the primary technical resource for production infrastructure across multiple colocation data centers. Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, including system configuration, security, performance, storage, access controls, and troubleshooting.
• Web Server and Database Optimization: Administer and optimize Java/Tomcat/PostgreSQL systems, ensuring strong performance, monitoring, and backup recovery processes.
• Network & Security Infrastructure: Configure and maintain Cisco firewalls, F5 load balancers, secure SFTP/AS2 transfers, and threat response via Alert Logic.
• Patching & Compliance: Manage OS patch schedules, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure alignment with SOC 2, HITRUST, and HIPAA standards.
• Disaster Recovery & Reliability: Maintain network backups, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and execute regular disaster recovery testing.
• DevOps & Integration: Collaborate with software engineering to streamline CI/CD pipelines (Git/Gitea, Jenkins, Maven), automated application deployments, and ETL data workflows.
• Modernization: Work with leadership to evaluate and implement infrastructure expansion and administrative automation.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and network configuration for multi-server environments.
• Strong background in PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with networking and security tools (Cisco Firewalls, F5 BIG-IP, SSL/TLS, SFTP, AS2).
• Experience preferred with supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven).
• Scripting expertise in Bash or Python .
• Understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2).
