Responsibilities Assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient, their family, and the health care team. Understand patients with critical illness and ventilator management. Respond to Code Blue within the facility and initiate protocol, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring. Manage efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exam, general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions. Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions. Maintain and review patients’ records, including posting tests and examination results. Administer medications in accordance with physician orders. Check rooms daily for necessary supplies. Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed). Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited nursing school. Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of practice with an active Compact/Multi‑State RN license. Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, required to be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer. NIH Stroke Scale Certification completed within 90 days of hire or transfer. Minimum of one year acute surgical critical care nursing experience.
