Looking for a truck diagnostic technician that lists core tasks like using computer scanners, checking electrical systems, and fixing heavy-duty truck engines.
Key Duties
- Run computer tests on truck systems.
- Find issues with engines, brakes, and electrical parts.
- Read error codes from truck computers.
- Use special diagnostic tools and multi-meters.
- Write down all work and parts used.
- Clear trucks to go back on the road safely.
Skills Needed
- Know how to use heavy-duty truck software.
- Understand diesel engines and wiring.
- Read technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Solve hard mechanical problems fast.
- Pay close attention to detail.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Trade school or diesel tech degree preferred.
- ASE certifications are a big plus.
- At least 2 years of hands-on truck repair experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean record.
