Reviewing orders to ensure all correct tests were ordered before drawing. Maintain a courteous and professional manner when dealing with clients and staff. Performing EKGs. Setting up and instructing clients on Holter monitors and removing such equipment. Following departmental guidelines on universal precautions and hazardous waste guidelines. Delivering all specimens that are drawn back to the Laboratory. Assisting in the Laboratory as needed, which may include urinalysis, sediment rates, screens, and send-outs. Making appointments for lab work ordered by physicians and obtaining clients' dates of birth. Attendance is an essential component of the job. Phlebotomist Requirements Previous experience working as a phlebotomist in a high‑volume setting required. Good verbal and written communication. Knowledge and proficiency in performing Electrocardiogram and Holter monitor. Must be able to read and interpret orders to draw correct tests. Good listening skills. Must be able to distinguish colors to determine appropriate tubes. Must be able to bend to draw from patients sitting in phlebotomy chairs. Must be able to physically access certain parts of the building within a reasonable amount of time. Schedule Monday to Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, flexibility is necessary as this schedule is subject to change. Overtime as required. Occasional Saturdays, 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
