Travel RN PCU

We are seeking an experienced Travel RN for a position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 13-week assignment. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

The Progressive Care Unit contains:

• Number of Beds: 36
• Staff Composition: 56 RNs and 21 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 or 5:1
• Equipment: Various medical equipment
• EMR System: Meditech

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including titrating cardiac medications.
• Perform procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis as needed.
• Work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Strong critical thinking and EKG interpretation skills.
• Preferred: Experience with titrating cardiac medications.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and possess excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

The position is based in a busy Progressive Care Unit that may require floating to ICU or Med-Surg as needed. The standard dress code is navy blue scrubs.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
