You will retrieve discharged patient records, resolve missing documentation, process health information requests, and partner closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless chart tracking. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Process, prep, scan, and manage protected health information and medical records while ensuring total HIPAA compliance, data accuracy, and timely chart retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, retrieve, and track discharged patient medical records from various hospital units.
• Prep, scan, index, and perform quality checks on physical records and loose reports.
• Log chart locations, respond to telephone inquiries, and fulfill records requests for medical staff.
• Maintain scanning equipment and adhere to daily departmental production and accuracy standards.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM with strong Windows and computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of alphabetical and numerical filing systems with exceptional attention to detail.
• Preferred: Previous HIM or medical office experience, electronic EMR familiarity, and medical terminology knowledge.
