About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Operations to play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational growth of its practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for matter and financial management, operational leadership, client service and relationship support, process and technology innovation, and strategic execution. This role demands an experienced practice leader with a minimum of 10 years' legal or law firm experience in practice management or professional services business operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic advisor, an entrepreneurial builder, and a master of execution, with a strong educational background and a proven track record of driving growth, financial performance, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities for the Managing Director include overseeing pitch and proposal activity, matter opening, budgeting, and compliance with client guidelines. The role also involves acting as the primary business liaison between practice leadership and internal corporate teams, leading a multi-disciplinary team to optimize workflows and resource allocation, and actively participating in the strategic planning process. The candidate should be adept at identifying and implementing process improvements, leveraging advanced technology platforms, and mentoring team members on best practices. A 90-day success roadmap is in place to ensure the candidate can quickly immerse themselves in the group's current portfolio, establish a strong operational cadence, and begin implementing process and infrastructural enhancements to scale the practice.
