Job Summary

The Spinjoy Store Manager owns the overall success of the location - full accountability for daily operations, financial performance, and team culture inside Walmart. As the top on-site leader, you drive every key result the store produces: activations, loyalty sign-ups, customer satisfaction, and revenue. You will build, manage, and develop a high-performing team (including Location Supervisors and Laundry Pros), own the store's scheduling and training programs from the ground up, and serve as the primary liaison between your location and Spinjoy's regional/corporate leadership - ensuring the store is always aligned on strategy, promotions, and performance goals. You must be fully capable of performing all Laundry Pro and Supervisor duties while setting the standard for leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Store Ownership & Business Leadership

• Own the overall success of the location - full accountability for operations, safety, culture, and financial performance
• Drive and ultimately own key metrics: new customer activations, Fresh Fold Rewards sign-ups, repeat visits, and revenue
• Make final, on-the-ground decisions on daily operations, promotion execution, and problem resolution
• Represent Spinjoy as the face of the store to Walmart store leadership, customers, and vendors

Staff Management & Development

• Own full-cycle staff management: hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance reviews, and - in partnership with HR - corrective action or termination decisions
• Directly manage and develop Location Supervisors and Laundry Pros, building bench strength for future leadership roles
• Lead, motivate, and coach the full team to deliver consistent, friendly, professional service and foster a family-like culture
• Own recognition and incentive programs: spiff bonus logs, monthly activation contests, and team goal-setting

Scheduling & Coverage

• Own the master schedule for the location, ensuring appropriate coverage (target 3 employees per hour) across every shift
• Approve time records, manage PTO and call-offs, and balance labor costs against customer volume
• Ensure Supervisors and Laundry Pros are appropriately assigned across Early, Mid, and Late shifts, including evenings and weekends

Training & Certification

• Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing training for all store staff, including the Spinjoy Certified Laundry Pro program and supervisory development modules
• Ensure every team member is equipped on operations, safety, app/QR system usage, and customer service standards
• Coach Location Supervisors on stepping into Manager-on-Duty responsibilities during their assigned shifts

Corporate Liaison & Reporting

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the location and Spinjoy's regional/corporate leadership team
• Report daily/weekly performance, issues, and opportunities to corporate, and escalate equipment, facilities, or vendor issues as needed
• Execute corporate-directed promotions, Walmart+ bundles, and engagement strategies from the Q&A database
• Provide the store's voice back to corporate on what's working, what customers are asking for, and where support is needed

Customer Experience & Operations

• Oversee the end-to-end customer journey: from walk-by greetings to fast, accurate pickups
• Personally resolve the store's most sensitive escalated complaints with empathy, offering solutions (discounts, rewashes, refunds) and following up
• Ensure compliance with hygiene (no mixing loads), safety (PPE, hazard reporting), eco-practices
• Manage inventory (detergents, bags, supplies), equipment maintenance, and daily cleaning checklists
• Maintain a spotless, inviting space aligned with Spinjoy branding and Porter design guidelines

Compliance, Safety & Growth

• Ensure full compliance with state and federal employment law (wage, breaks, workers' comp, I-9, background checks)
• Enforce all safety protocols (emergency procedures, PPE, hazard reporting) and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Model Spinjoy values - efficiency, cleanliness, customer focus, human connection, and continuous improvement - and actively participate in leadership training and development

Hands-On Leadership

• Perform all Laundry Pro and Supervisor duties as needed, stepping in during peak times, absences, or high-volume periods

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (some college or related coursework preferred)
• At least 2-4 years of management or supervisory experience, ideally with full-store or P&L-style accountability (retail, hospitality, laundry, or service industry preferred)
• Demonstrated experience hiring, training, and managing a team
• Strong business acumen and comfort owning performance metrics and reporting to leadership
• Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to stand/walk/lift up to 50 lbs for an entire shift
• Comfortable with technology (POS/app systems, scheduling and reporting tools)
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays per Walmart store hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Store Manager or General Manager experience in retail, laundry, or a fast-paced service environment
• Experience managing budgets, labor costs, or P&L
• Experience designing training programs or leading train-the-trainer initiatives
• Familiarity with state employment laws (e.g., medical marijuana, wage, breaks)
• Track record of growing team performance through incentive and recognition programs

Schedule Expectations

• Full-time: ~40-45+ hours/week, reflecting full ownership of the location
• Flexible shifts across Walmart store hours, with availability for occasional early opens or late closes as needed
• Shifts are scheduled with breaks for team well-being
