The therapist handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.Essential Job Functions:Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations.Honesty & Integrity.To be mindful of the importance of personal hygiene and grooming.Adhere to hotel Health and Safety guidelines.Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Maintain highest levels of professional performance, conduct, client service, safety, and hygiene in work areas and throughout the spa.Maintain thorough knowledge of and adherence to all procedures, protocols, and standards of Hotel and Spa.Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and skills in all spa services, tools, equipment, and products offered.Effectively inquire, assess, inform, explain, educate and provide treatment addressing guest/client specific needs and concerns, and, when applicable, the contraindications restricting or preventing treatment.Effectively advocate to spa guest/client additional services and products of interest or benefit to them.Participate in and successfully complete all training, education, and certifications required by spa.Collaborate, cooperate, and contribute to the success of all spa personnel and operations and effectively perform all tasks requested or assigned by management.Creates and fosters a positive and professional environment for Spa guests by performing a wide range of massage and therapy techniques.Performs Spa services according to established standards.Maintains a deep knowledge of Spa-specific techniques, services, products and promotions.Consults with Spa guests to determine needs and expectations.Assures the appropriate level of communication transpires between the therapist and the Spa guest during the course of treatment.Maintains a clean and organized work space in compliance with local health codes and regulations.Maintains appropriate and up-to-date licenses and certifications.Complies with all Work Rules, Safety Standards and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.May be assigned other duties at the discretion of management.Additional CompensationIn addition to the posted hourly rate, eligible Massage Therapists may have the opportunity to earn service commission, retail commission where applicable, and gratuities/service charge distribution in accordance with hotel policy and applicable law.Total compensation may vary based on schedule, business demand, services performed, guest bookings, and applicable commissions or gratuities.Qualifications/Skills:Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. Deep knowledge of local goods and services in critical, along with established vendor contacts.Essential Physical Abilities:Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms overhead, bending and stooping.The act of conducting a massage requires physical strength – a therapist must be able to move and manipulate a human body in a safe manner.Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying: Carry up to 10 pounds.Mobility: 15% of the shift will require walking around the spa.Continuous Standing: 75% of the stand while performing massages.Environment Physical Job Requirement: Hearing, vision, speech, and literacy.One-on-one communication with guest, managers and fellow employees.Must be able to observe conditions in the Spa.
