Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Knowledge of professional registered nursing procedures; state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to nursing Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatment plans. Monitors patients on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention in emergencies. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals when necessary. Schedules, assigns, and reviews work of lower-level staff as needed. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains new employees. Responsible for all healthcare of bedridden patients, makes rounds, and evaluates care needed. Teaches healthcare principles and administers medication including narcotics. Directs healthcare staff assigned to the area in the absence of senior personnel. Assists physicians in diagnostic health evaluations. Charts and records all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information. Completes required reports and documents information accurately. Maintains inventory of controlled drugs and medical equipment. Arranges for outpatient appointments and medical examinations. Performs administrative tasks and attends meetings as required.
