The candidate should have a background in photovoltaic installation, electrical grid interconnection and experience in reading & interpreting Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) records.MAJOR DUTIESPhotovoltaic installation & electrical connectivityUnderstanding of Utility grid interconnectivityMonitor photovoltaic system for performance issuesAbility to assess SCADA monitoring & data collectionDiagnose and repair photovoltaic system malfunctionsAssist with reporting on project activities (virtual)Other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee is frequently required to reach/operate with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (assistance will be provided).Must be comfortable working around high-voltage systems.Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The employee must frequently stand or sit for extended periods and lift objects on occasions.WORKING CONDITIONSWork will take place at one solar demonstration site location.Workdays will take place on weekdays & occasional weekend (if maintenance is required)Working outdoors (under shed) in various climates, hot and cold - occasionallyMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTechnical training in electrical technology, renewable energy systems and industrial maintenance Understanding of AC/DC power systems and high voltage systemsAbility to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsAbility to use testing tools (e.g. multimeters).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSNABCEP certification (e.g., PV Installation Professional)State Electrical LicenseUSG Core Values StatementThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning, as well as the System Office.
