Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based at Narayan Pharmacy in Mount Vernon, NY. The Pharmacist will review and interpret prescriptions, verify dosing and potential interactions, and dispense medications accurately in accordance with legal and clinical standards. Daily responsibilities include counseling patients on proper medication use, side effects, and storage, as well as answering questions about over-the-counter products and general health topics. The role involves collaborating with prescribers and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues and support appropriate therapy. The Pharmacist will also oversee pharmacy technicians, maintain inventory control, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and contribute to the implementation of patient care programs and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Licensure and education: Active Pharmacist license in the state of New York and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. Clinical and regulatory knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmacology, therapeutics, drug interactions, dosing guidelines, and applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations. Patient care and communication: Ability to provide clear, compassionate counseling, explain complex information in accessible language, and interact effectively with diverse patients and healthcare professionals. Operational skills: Competence in prescription processing, inventory management, medication safety procedures, and use of pharmacy management software and electronic health records. Professional qualities: High attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, integrity, and reliability in handling controlled substances and confidential information. Collaboration and adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a team, supervise and support pharmacy technicians, and adapt to changes in workflow, technology, and regulations.
