Exciting opportunity for talented educators! We are seeking a certified 6th Grade Math teacher with a passion for inspiring middle school students and a solid foundation in general education. This contract position is conveniently located in the Philadelphia area and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through effective mathematics instruction.
As a 6th Grade Math teacher, you’ll engage students in a supportive and structured classroom environment, helping them grow in confidence and ability. You’ll be responsible for planning, instructing, and assessing math lessons for early adolescents, supporting their ongoing academic achievement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- PA Instructional I or II Certification in Mathematics (covering grades 6-8) is required
- At least one year of prior teaching experience in math or general education at the elementary or middle school level
- Background in developing and delivering engaging math curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Not currently accepting emergency-certified candidates
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and deliver daily math instruction aligned with state standards for 6th grade
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where all learners can thrive
- Assess student progress and tailor instruction based on ongoing data and observation
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators, parents, and support staff
- Maintain accurate records of student growth, attendance, and accomplishments
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
This full-time role consists of a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, from 8:15am to 4:15pm. Earn between $36.25 and $46.25 per hour, with a rewarding schedule that supports your professional growth.
