Activities Assistant

Activities Assistant | $18–$19/hour | Part-Time | Weekends Othello Post Acute Help residents stay engaged, connected, and doing what they love. As an Activities Assistant at Othello Post Acute, you'll plan and lead activities that bring joy, purpose, and a sense of community to residents' daily lives. From group games and music to one-on-one visits for residents who can't leave their rooms. If you're creative, patient, and love working with seniors, this role is a great fit. What You'll Do Lead individual and group activities tailored to each resident's interests, abilities, and cultural or religious preferences Bring activities directly to bed-bound or room-confined residents (music, reading, visits, in-room projects) Adapt activities to different cognitive and physical ability levels using prompts, demonstrations, and hands-on assistance Help build and distribute the activity calendar Gather input from residents to keep activity plans current and personalized Keep activity spaces and supplies clean, organized, and "homelike" Monitor for safety hazards and report maintenance issues promptly Support the social dining program Accurately document participation and updates in resident records Participate in fire/disaster drills and required in-service training Why Work Here Competitive pay: $18–$19/hour, based on experience A genuinely rewarding role — you're the person who brings smiles, connection, and purpose to residents' days Creative freedom to shape programming around what residents actually enjoy Supportive team environment with ongoing training What You'll Need High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience in long-term/geriatric care preferred Strong communication and customer service skills, with genuine empathy for residents and families Comfort working with residents who are cognitively or physically impaired Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and stay mobile/active throughout your shift No license required New to activities programming?
