Surgical/OR - Technologist

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring an OR for a temporary assignment in Cody, Wyoming. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Location: Cody, Wyoming Schedule: 7:00AM - 5:00PM x 4 Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension Pay Rate: $58 - $62/hr

Responsibilities for a OR:

Work 10-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with call required Maintain current BLS (AHA) certification Assist in the surgical suite and endoscopy room to provide safe and skilled patient care Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret information needed to identify each patient's age-specific requirements Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all matters and manage sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy Apply knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles Perform effectively in highly stressful situations and interact effectively with a wide variety of people Anticipate the needs of surgeons and patients Utilize Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook and learn new computer software applications Assist the OR Circulating RN in preparing the room for surgery, including opening sterile packages, selecting appropriate equipment, and ensuring all supplies are available Set up instruments and equipment required for each procedure Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in the delivery of patient care Serve on committees as assigned and function as a professional member of the Surgical Services team Assist with cleaning the surgical suite and related areas Provide guidance and instruction to fellow co-workers Check expiration dates and condition of supplies and equipment, rotating stock and replacing outdated supplies Improve the efficiency of surgeons and other professionals in the operating room Pursue professional growth through continuing education and in-services Assist with transporting patients to surgery or escorting patients out of the building upon discharge as needed Attend meetings and workshops as assigned Assist with putting orders and supplies away in a timely manner Participate in and occasionally instruct in-services for fellow employees Assist with the orientation of new employees to the department Assist in the Sterile Processing Department when needed and perform the role of Sterile Processing Tech as required Perform other duties as assigned
