Summer Camp Counselor — Outdoor Activities & Safety

Location Wheatridge Colorado – Peak Expeditionary School Important Details Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, typically 30-36 hours/week. Position Duration: Training takes place on May 23 and May 24 – 28; programs run from June 1 until July 31. June 29 – July 3 off. Compensation: Starting at $17.25/hour This job description provides an overview of the primary and most common responsibilities and is not exhaustive of all tasks that may be performed. Flexibility, adaptability, willingness to learn, and ownership of your performance are an ESSENTIAL part of your Summer! Job Duties You will spend a week with a group of campers, leading and participating in activities such as biking, hiking, and climbing, along with other fun camp games and activities. Safety is key. You will be responsible for risk management and teaching our campers how to recreate safely. You are a role model for our campers; you will demonstrate and guide campers in appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities. Provide exceptional customer service to our campers, parents, and Avid families. Your Background Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp. +1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred. Experience in our onsite activities such as rock wall belaying, bike pump track, and general camp activities preferred. Minimum of Basic First Aid, CPR, and Mandatory Reporter certification by the start of camp.
