Business Development Manager

TYME Consulting Engineers, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team in Jacksonville, FL. Role Summary The Business Development Manager will be actively identifying and pursuing new consulting engineering business opportunities in government and commercial/retail development sectors, with specific focus in northeast and central Florida, and viable markets/regions in adjoining states. You will develop and foster long-term client relationships that lead to new projects from past and existing clients; network to develop new clients; develop intelligence regarding our competition; and assist in the preparation of qualification packages, written proposals and other client submittals. Responsibilities Direct and manage overall Business Development processes, including: client and project pursuits, response to RFPs/RFQs, wins and losses, industry activities and other general business development/marketing responsibilities. Effectively discuss TYME core services and negotiate teaming arrangements to pursue work. Track and report on key marketing information, facilitate strategy business development meetings, and lead team in major project pursuits. Manage key client relationships and work with Operations to respond to client needs. This may include leading collaborative efforts across multiple divisions in the company. Attend professional organization, government and technical meetings/events; and develop and maintain an effective network in our consulting business community. Research potential clients to determine potential additional service lines required to enter viable new markets; and establish initial and follow-up contacts with identified key decision makers. Directs the activities and monitors the results of subordinate direct reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing or other related field. 10 years’ business development experience with direct sales experience in consulting engineering, architectural, civil/construction market (experience in the Transportation sector is a plus). In-depth knowledge and familiarity with FDOT districts and work/regulations. Firm grasp of CTQP and FDOT Selection procedures, FDOT proposal writing, and working knowledge of FDOT project managers and consultants. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal/networking abilities; this position will involve spending approximately 60 percent of the time face-to-face with targeted strategic clients.
